What Is
Uterine Fibroids ?
Between 20
percent and 40 percent of women past age 35 have fibroids. These
are noncancerous tumors of the uterus that appear during your
childbearing years. Also called myomas, fibromyomas or leiomyomas,
fibroids can appear on the inside or outside lining of your
uterus, or within its muscular wall. They usually develop from a
single smooth muscle cell that continues to grow.
You may have a single fibroid or several. Fibroids can range from
pea sized to the size of a grapefruit. Although most fibroids
remain small, their growth can be unpredictable. Some grow slowly,
while others may grow very quickly. Most of the time, however,
fibroids aren't dangerous. |

Signs and Symptoms
If you have uterine fibroids, you may not know it. At least half of all women with fibroids have no symptoms. In fact, most fibroids are discovered during a routine pelvic exam or during prenatal care. The most common symptoms of fibroids include:

Causes
Mental
disorders and heredity seems to play a role. You're
more likely to develop fibroids if other women in your family have
them.
Fibroid growth also seems to be controlled by hormonal factors,
especially the production of estrogen. Fibroids tend to grow
during your reproductive years, and may expand rapidly during
pregnancy when your estrogen levels are very high. They generally
shrink after menopause as estrogen levels decline. Other hormones,
such as progesterone, may also affect fibroid growth.

When to
Seek Medical Advice
See your doctor if you have pelvic pain that doesn't go away, overly heavy or painful periods, difficulty emptying your bladder or moving your bowels or pain with intercourse. Seek prompt medical care if you have severe vaginal bleeding or sharp pelvic pain that comes on suddenly.

Screening and Diagnosis
In making a diagnosis, your physician will conduct a complete pelvic exam to feel for fibroids. In some cases, your doctor may recommend an ultrasound, a painless exam that uses sound waves to project an image of your uterus on a video screen. This image can be viewed in detail to better evaluate the growths.

Complications
Although
fibroids usually aren't dangerous, they can cause discomfort and
may lead to complications such as anemia from heavy blood loss.
They can also make it hard for you to become pregnant by
interfering with the ability of a fertilized egg to implant on
your uterine lining. Sometimes fibroids can obstruct the birth
canal, complicating labor and delivery.
In rare instances fibroid tumors can grow out of your uterus on a
stalklike projection. If the fibroid twists on this stalk, you may
develop a sudden, sharp, severe pain in your lower abdomen. If so,
get medical care right away.

Uterine
Fibroids & Homeopathy.
Homeopathic
medicines can actually dissolve all types of tumours including
Utrine fibroids and Ovarian Cysts. Not only this, they even
control the tendency of the body to form tumours later on.
Homeopathic medication builds up immunity of the body so it can
resume its natural functions of repair and maintenance. This is in
contrast to conventional treatment which is destructive in nature
with a lot of side effects. Homeopathy treats you in totality
leading to a permanent cure rather than just temporary suppression
of symptoms.
After homeopathic treatment you will notice that there will be
decrease in the size of the tumour and finally it will disappear.
There will be amelioration in the associated symptoms like pain,
pressure, symptoms etc. It also cures the tendency for developing
tumours and thus the patient is prematurely cured
Women have usually been told that surgery is the only solution,
often fear a hysterectomy, and come to us seeking an alternative.
If you do have fibroids, it is quite helpful to have an
ultrasound, if you haven't already. This provides a base- line of
the size which you can compare later after treatment. We
always use homeopathy as a main-stay in treating fibroids. One
remedy, for example, is helpful for women with fibroids who are
irritable, have heavy, clotted periods, cry easily, and have very
low sex drive. A different remedy is needed if the woman is
bleeding heavily, with bright red blood but no clots, quite
thirsty, and is a very gregarious and sympathetic person. There
are number of homeopathic remedies which may fit the individual
woman.
